Prayer is simply talking with God, no special words required, no formula to get right. It can be quiet or loud, alone or with others, a whispered thanks or a desperate cry for help.

At C3 SYD we cover everything we do in prayer. Throughout the Bible, prayer is frequently done in community, as a church family and in unity. Something powerful happens when we pray together as one.

ONLINE PRAYER

We see people praying together modelled throughout the Bible: 

The church prayed together for Peter while he was in prison (Acts 12:5). Paul asked believers in Rome to "strive together in prayer" for him (Romans 15:30). Jesus taught his disciples to pray "Our Father," not "my Father" (Matthew 6:9). Even the "armour of God" passage in Ephesians 6 is written in the plural, "you" together, not just "you" alone.

When Daniel faced the pressure of interpreting King Nebuchadnezzar's dream, he didn't do it alone. He went to his friends, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, and asked them to plead for mercy together (Daniel 2:17-18).

They prayed together. That's why we gather every fortnight, as a church, to pray.

Prayer & Fasting

Fasting is a powerful way to draw closer to God, it’s not about earning more of him, but about giving more of ourselves to him.

When we set aside time to fast and pray, we believe God will move in our hearts, homes, and across our church.

Whether it’s food, media, or another habit, fasting helps us tune out distractions and tune in to the voice of the Holy Spirit.
